The Essex Serpent premiered on Apple TV this weekend. Based on the award-winning novel by Essex author, Sarah Perry, Tom Hiddleston and Claire Danes star in this long-awaited mini-series.
We have some great behind the scenes images taken at FilmFixer location Gunnersbury Park Museum which was turned into a Victorian hospital, complete with a treatment room, small operation room, full ward and matrons desk. (See the before and after pictures of the ward). Gunnersbury was also used as a unit base while filming the hospital scenes. Other FilmFixer boroughs used include Southwark and Islington, with Islington borough scenes being shot in Charterhouse Square and Finsbury Park used as the unit base, while parking was needed in Southwark.
The story follows London widow Cora Seaborne (Claire Danes) who moves to Essex to investigate reports of a mythical serpent. She forms an unlikely bond with the village vicar (Tom Hiddleston), but when tragedy strikes, locals accuse her of attracting the creature.
